Hello everyone! Michelle Duggin, Kim Fry, Vonnie Hill and I returned Saturday evening after attending a Presbyterian Women’s Conference in Russellville. We went through some pretty hard showers on the way down Friday and Saturday, a big storm went through while we were in the chapel at the Central Presbyterian Church. We made it home safe and sound.
We now have a great-granddaughter to go with our great-grandson. I wish I could see and hold the babies but they are too far away.
The Girl Scouts meet Monday’s after school at the Presbyterian Church in West Fork. If your daughter would like to become a girl scout or you would like to become a leader, please stop in at the church and speak with the ladies in charge. They’d be happy to sign you up for next year.
The yard across from the church (On McKnight Street) is sure pretty and green. I wonder if Mr. Caudle plans to build another house there. It sure is a pretty lot. I thought maybe it belonged to the city then found out the property still belongs to Steve Caudle.
Eddie Vick loaned me her Amish cookbook and the book has some great recipes including one for ‘bedbug killer’! The ingredients are: 4 drams of Hydrag Bichlor Carros, and 8 oz. wool alcohol. Mix –apply to crevices and beds with a feather. Be sure and try this remedy if you are troubled with bedbugs. Nothing better can be compounded. (Now, where does one find the ingredients?)
May will be a busy month for me. My oldest granddaughter, Tiffany, is getting married on May 2; my grandson, John, turns 18 on May 6th; my youngest son, Michael, has a birthday on the 11th, my oldest son, Darrin, has a birthday on May 22 plus in between, I have two granddaughters graduating; a CLP session in Hot Springs, and then Cathy Hughes and I plan to take her grandson, Parker, and my granddaughters, Jessica and Judy to Ferncliff for Bible Camp. I don’t think that’s going to leave me any time to get in trouble!
Charity Smith (daughter of Kim Fry) and Eric Gillum will be married at the First Presbyterian Church of West Fork on Saturday, May 8th at 4:00 p.m. Their reception will be at the Greenland Community Center.
My church is filling shoe boxes with personal hygiene items for the women and children at the Women’s Shelter. The Gideon representative that visited our church last week brought us enough small testaments to place one in each box that we plan to fill. He brought both English and Spanish translations.
I wish to thank Mrs. Frasier for the donation of stuffed animals for the hospital and school. The animals were in very good condition. Some looked new.
Nothing annoys a woman more than to have friends drop in unexpectedly and find the house looking as it usually does.
Until next week: Prayer should be the key of the day and the lock of the night.
