Christmas Auction

West Fork Friends of the Library Annual Christmas Basket Silent Auction. Bring donated baskets by Dec. 16. Come to the Library and bid on a Basket. Create a basket and donate it to Raise Money for the Library.

Pecan Party

The White River Valley Kiwanis is holding its Second Annual Pecan Fundraiser. This year features shelled pecan halves, glazed pecans, chocolatecovered pecans and more. All bags are $10 each. Pre-order by contacting Cindy Moore at or Amy Simco at Or call 479-839-3000.

USO Drive

Until Dec. 3, students of the Greenland Middle School EAST program are seeking donations of toiletries and dried snack foods to be sent to military service members overseas. For details Call Lexi Blake,521-2366, ext. 248.

Christmas Lighting Delayed last week because of weather, Prairie Grove Chamber of Commerce Christmas lighting will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at Mock Park beginning at 6 p.m. Hot chocolate, Christmas cookies, Christmas music. Bring your kids to visit with Santa.

Teacher Workshop West Fork Schools will be having a workshop for substituteteachers on Friday, Dec. 9, at 9:00 a.m. in the Superintendent’s Office. Anyone interesting in substituting needs to attend the workshop. For questions please call 479-839-2231 extension 5003.


Brentwood Bluegrass Brentwood Bluegrass Show has started back up. Every first and third Saturday, 7 p.m. at the Brentwood Community Building located on Hwy 71. Concessions available, admission $3.00. All acoustic musicians welcome. For more Information, please call 479-966-5888.

Folk Dancing

The Fayetteville International Folk Dancers meet each Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Mt. Comfort Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 3816 Mt. Comfort Rd., Fayetteville. No partner is needed, beginners welcome. Learn dances from around the world while getting exercise at the same time! First time is free, otherwise $3 per person. Fall Story Time

Libraries in Greenland, West Fork and Winslow continue their weekly fall story hour for preschool children ages and up. Registration is not required and the events are free. Story hours will be held weekly on Thursdays at the Greenland Library at 8:45 a.m., Tuesdays at the Winslow Library at noon, and at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays at the West Fork Library.

West Fork Historical Calendar

The West Fork Historical Society and Friends of the West Fork Library are planning to jointly publish a Historical Calendar late this year. Needed are noteworthy historical items which might be photographed. Please contact Gary Culp, President of the Historical Society, at 839-2696.
