Here’s a bit from the press release:

“I am grateful for Congressman Hammerschmidt’s support,” stated Summers.  “I’ve worked hard for Northwest Arkansas, and I would be honored to represent Northwest Arkansas’ conservative values in the State Senate.”

“Representative Tim Summers will always put Northwest Arkansas first,” stated Hammerschmidt.  “You can trust him to fight for lower taxes, make job creation his number one priority, and serve his constituents with great service.”
“I’m proud to support Tim Summers in the Republican Primary for State Senate,” Hammerschmidt concluded.

Summers’ only Republican opponent so far is Bart Hester from Cave Springs. The official filing period for primaries is from Feb. 23 to March 1. The primary itself takes place on May 22.  — Jeff Winkler
