Oletta Lavelle Howe —

Oletta Lavelle Howe, 79 a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away May 1, 2012 in Fort Scott, Kansas.

She was born April 26, 1933 in Odell, Arkansas, the daughter of John H. “Perno” and Jewell Agnus Rose Dobbs. She was a member of the Prairie Oaks Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Howe; one brother, Thorton Dobbs; and one sister, Bonnie Morrison.

Survivors include one son, Rocky Howe, and his wife, Valarie, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; three daughters, Deborah Jetmore and her huband, Tim of Deerfield, Missouri, Saundra Shinkle and her husband, Randy of Fall River, Kansas, and Sheila Oliver of Grain Valley, Missouri; three brothers, Omer Dobbs, Johnny Dobbs, and Clinton Dobbs; two sisters, Rachel Loftin and Ruby Marshall. twelve grandchildren, Melissa Liddle, Deborah Shinkle, Zachary Shinkle, Thaddaeus Jack Jetmore, Tara Beth Oliver, Kevin Oliver, Samatha Lavelle Oliver, Colton Jack Howe, Jake Dalton Howe, Jenna Ruth Howe, John David Horn and Casey Liddle and one great grandchild, Max Shinkle; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service was held Friday, May 4, 2012 at Prairie Oaks Baptist Church Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery near Evansville. Pallbearers were grandsons, Tad Jatmore, Zac Shinkle, Kevin Oliver, Jake Howe, Casey Liddle, and Brian Hendrick. Honorary Pallbearers: John David Horn and Colton Howe.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fort Scott Manor 736 Heylman Fort Scott, Kansas 66701.Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.


Belva Lorene Brumley —

Belva Lorene Brumley, 66 a resident of Farmington went to be with her Lord on May 3, 2012 at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville. She was born September 9, 1945 in Welling, Oklahoma, to Brooks and Arla Huntley Anders, the youngest of eight girls.

Belva was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, her mother and father in law, John and Alma Brumley. She is survived by her husband, Alvin; they were married December 1, 1963. Two children, Mike Brumley and his wife, Cindy of Richardson, Texas and Johna Selph and her husband, Rodney of West Fork, Arkansas, three precious grandchildren, Kaden Michael Selph, McKenzie Christine Selph and Gunner Allen Selph all of West Fork. Four sisters, Minnie Patterson of Harrah, Oklahoma, Bertie Montgomery and Deloris Bruce of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Carolyn Trammell and her husband, George of Gore, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law Loretta June Sullenger of Wheeler. Her extended family Willie and Irene Day of Prairie Grove and many many special friends.

Belva retired from Northwest Arkansas Vending. She was a member of the Farmington Baptist Church in Farmington.

Funeral Service was held Saturday, May 5, 2012 – 10:00 A.M. at Farmington Baptist Church. Burial was in the Farmington Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Pinky Hart, Lanny Samples, Bruce Haile, Larry Weeks, Donnie Day, Howard Carter, and Wayne Brumley. Honorary Pallbearers: Pop Williams, Randy Lynch, Ben Hale, Marvin Janas, Junior Parker, Jerry Peters, and Sam Mabry. Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.


Sharolyn “Sherry” Drake —

Sharolyn “Sherry” Drake passed away May 2, 2012,  due to health conditions.

She was a loving wife, mother and friend. She worked at Montgomery Ward from 78-81. She retired from Wal-Mart #359 in 1997. She had worked there for 16 years. She had many friends and family who loved her and will miss her. She loved listening to music, painting and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Marion Osborn and one sister, Carol Osborn. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Kenneth Drake of the home. Three sons, Terry and Julia Osborn of Marrero, Louisiana, Creg and Wendy Osborn of Lincoln and Russell Drake of West Fork. She is also survived by one daughter, Suzanne and Larry Moheng of West Fork. One brother, Raymond Osborn of Omaha, Nebraska. She has nine grandchildren, Misti Osborn, Kelsey Osborn, Isaac Osborn, Doug and Whitnie Smothers, Justin and Kelsey, Katelyn and David Baker, Courtney Osborn and fiance Derek Riedel, Ashley and Oscar Rodriguez and Jessie Moheng. Eight great grandchildren, Kendall Jasper, Preslei Osborn, Owen Smothers, Cayden Smothers, Daton and Coleton Baker, Lanz, Logan and Maddie Rodriguez. She had many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Family expresses a special Thank You to the Arkansas Children’s Burn Center for an outstanding Job. Thank you for the care and love you all showed our loved one and our family. Memorial service was held Wednesday, May 9, 2012 – 1:00 A.M. at New Life Covenant Church in Prairie Grove.


Floyd Eames Brands

Floyd Eames Brands —

Floyd Eames Brands, 87, a resident of Prairie Grove, went to be with his Lord on May 9, 2012 at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville.  He was born February 8, 1925 at Corunna, Michigan, the son of Ivan and Elsie Webb Brands.

Floyd was raised in the Baptist church and was baptized as a teenager.  He attended the Corunna Public Schools graduating in 1943.  After graduation he entered the army.  It was while in the service that he became acquainted with Phyllis, as a pen pal, through the encouragement of his sister Florence. After Floyd’s discharge in December 1946, they began dating and were married in September 21, 1947.

Floyd was a member of the Civitan Club in Kosciusko, Mississippi, a volunteer for the WRMC Gift Shop for 20 years.  He retired after working 40 years for Magna Tec/Universal Electric.  He was active in the Church of Christ for 64 years serving as a teacher, Elder and Treasurer. After retirement he became an avid wood worker.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Karin, three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis Brands; two daughters, Nancy Brands of Fayetteville and Kathleen Brands of Prairie Grove. one sister, Florence Benjamin of Owosso, Michigan; three granddaughters, Denyse, Jacquelin and Olivia; five great grandchildren, Chris, Khandice, Karin, Cameron and Kayliee; one sister in law, Laura Brands of Corunna, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Memorial Service was held Saturday May 12, 2012 2:00 P.M. Church of Christ in Prairie Grove.

Floyd was cremated and his ashes will be placed in the Prairie Grove Cemetery

Clayton Kenneth Dizney —

Clayton Kenneth Dizney, 70, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away May 14, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born May 13, 1942 in Carnegie, Oklahoma, the son of Chester and Mildred Fately Fisher.

Clay loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, driving his tractor and riding his motorcycle.  He was also an avid competition Trap Shooter, and he loved all things guns. He loved spending time with his family and especially his two granddaughters.  He couldn’t get enough hugs from those two little girls.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prairie Grove and a longtime resident of Prairie Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ralph Fisher and a half brother, Patrick Dizney.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Cawley Dizney; two sons, Sean Dizney of Prairie Grove and Brian Dizney of Springdale; one brother, Randy Dizney of Lincoln, Nebraska; one sister, Ramona Peterson of California; two granddaughters, Emily and Brooklyn; his mother in law, Jeanine Cawley of Prairie Grove; two brothers-in-law, Steve Cawley of Fayetteville, and David Cawley and his wife Debbie of Rogers; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held Friday May 18, 2012 10:00 A.M. First Baptist Church Prairie Grove, with burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Brian Dizney, David Cawley, Darren Cawley, Jason Ward, Keith Genereau, Derek Andert. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Eddie McClelland and Bill Love.

Richard K. “Dicky Pat” Robinson —

Richard K. “Dicky Pat” Robinson, 73, a resident of West Fork  passed away May 11, 2012 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born June 17, 1938 in Winslow,  the son of Jesse N. and Audrea E. Craytor Robinson.

He attended the Unity Covenant Church.

He served in the United States Amy and United States Navy from 1958-1962.

Survivors include his wife Peggy Robinson; four sons James Robinson of Bella Vista, Darrien Cummings of Summers, Wesley Holland of Centerton,  Martin Holland of Rancho Cordova, California; one Daughter Vicki Moore of Cape Coral, Florida; two brothers Arvil E. Budd of Jacksonville, Florida, Daniel Robinson of West Fork, Arkansas, three sisters Dolores Steward of Alma, Jean Blackmon of Fort Worth, Texas, Matilda Mills of Farmington; ten grandchildren, four  great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 – 1:00 p.m. at Unity Covenant Church in West Fork with Brian Bowerman officiating. Burial will follow in Brentwood Cemetery in Winslow.

Thomas Roy Romary —

Thomas Roy Romary, 63, a resident of Hogeye, passed away May 12, 2012 at his home due to Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born June 14, 1949 Ponca City, Oklahoma,  the son of Harold D. and Mildred Heath Romary

Tom retired after 22 years of service in the United States Air Force as an E4, serving as a Load Master in Desert Storm and Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Marcie Romary; three sisters, Betty Frazier of Eagle, Idaho, Bertha Webb of Long Beach, California and Barbara Dunaway of Bend, Oregon.

Edward Ray Roach —

Edward Ray Roach, 61 of West Fork died Sunday, May 13, 2012 in Springdale. He was born March 11, 1951 in Modesto, CA the son of Jerry Roach and Mayda Mahuren.

He was employed as a carpenter and truck driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and 4 brothers.

Survivors include 3 sons, Michael Roach of Huntsville, Jerry Roach of Fackler, AL, Clinton Monroe of Springdale; Daughter, Tonya Trammell of West Fork; Sister, Pauline Bumgarner of Lincoln, AR; 3 brothers, Steve Roach of Morrow, AR, Bill Roach of Pineville, MO, Bobby Roach of Fayetteville; step-daughter, Sherry Leech of Winslow; step-son, Leonard Hulsey of Springdale; 11 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM, Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Moore’s Chapel. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

Norman J. Hutton, Jr. —

Norman J. Hutton, Jr., 75, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Fayetteville.

He was born April 30, 1937 in Greenland, Arkansas, the son of Norman J. Hutton, Sr. and Lydia McChristian Hutton.

He was a retired horse farm manager.

He is survived by a nephew, Ron Hoskins of Farmington and a friend, James Doyle Shelton of Fayetteville.

Cremation was by Moore’s Chapel, no services are planned.


Archie C. Adams —

Archie C. Adams, 77 of Winslow passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 at his home.

He was born August 22, 1934 in Elizabeth, New Jersey the son of Robert Nelson Murray Adams and Jane McCreadie Anderson Adams. He was a veteran of the U. S Navy during the Korean War era and a retired machinist. He volunteered as a hunter safety instructor for more than 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Eleanor Marie Adams, 2 brothers, Alexander and Robert Adams, 2 sisters, Jean Smith and Agnes McDonough. He is survived by his brother, William Adams of Treasure Island, FL; 3 sons, Nelson Adams and wife Beverly of Winslow, Eric Adams of Winslow and Howard Sanderson of Farmington; 2 daughters, Donna Mounce of Winslow and Linda Temple and husband Robert of Winfield Park, NJ; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 PM, Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at

Beard’s Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 4 PM with Pastor Perry Hall Officiating. A Private burial will be held at a later date at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel and Crematory of Fayetteville.

Cara May McCorckle

Cara May McCorkle —

Cara May McCorkle, 28 of West Fork died Saturday, May 5, 2012.

She was born September 11, 1983, in Fayetteville, AR.  Cara was the daughter of Sam and Carla McCorkle.  She graduated from West Fork High School in 2001.  She was a certified police officer and worked for Washington County Sheriff’s department for most of her career.

In Cara’s too short time on Earth she touched the lives of so many people.  She was kind, patient, generous, and so much fun to be around with that contagious laugh she had.  She was quick to give a helping hand, and was a rock for so many people.  She loved her family, friends, and her dogs.We loved Cara so much and we will truly miss her.

Survivors include her parents Sam and Carla McCorkle; sisters, Nikki Shackelford and husband Justin and Madeline McCorkle; grandparents Mitch and Henry McCorkle and Bill and Lola Ellis, and she will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 am, Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Unity Baptist Church, 14680 Union Star Rd, West Fork, AR 72774 with Uncle Bobby Wilson officiating.  Burial will be at the West Fork Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel immediately following the services.  Online condolences may be made to the family at
