Jones Elementary School in Springdale was the first to have a Girl Scout after-school program. School Principal Melisa Fink and Girl Scout Troop Leader Ana Villafranca started the program last fall, and they have been working together in bringing new knowledge to the girls. They ask for collaboration from professionals in the community to guide the girls in learning new skills. The programs are available to all schools; other participating schools like George Elementary and Bayyari Elementary, host programs where girls come from adjacent schools to participate in the fun Girl Scout learning experience.
