    Marshall Jay ‘Bird’  McCarver Prairie Grove Marshall Jay “Bird” McCarver, 39, a resident of Prairie Grove passed away Feb. 25 in Colorado. He was born Feb. 7, 1973, in Fayetteville the son of Stanley and Linda Farmer McCarver. Jay was in the Army National Guard and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He coached his son’s baseball team, an avid Razorback fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. He was employed at Cox Communications for 10 years. He was an outdoors man he loved hunting, fishing and skiing. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Tempy Farmer, Thearn Farmer and Truman McCarver. Survivors include his wife, Tina McCarver; two sons, Mitchell McCarver of Prairie Grove and Robert Dix of Fayetteville, two daughters, Journey McCarver of Prairie Grove, and Ashley Dix of Fayetteville; his father, Stanley McCarver of Durham, his mother, Linda Farmer McCarver of Springdale; one brother, Richie McCarver of Fayetteville; one sister, Chrissy Goodwin of Farmington; grandmother, Lorene McCarver of Prairie Grove.​ Funeral Service was held Friday, March 2, at Prairie Grove Christian Church. Burial is in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.​ Norman D.
