  1. Mayor, Clerk-elect Support Water/Sewer Change

    At the November General Election, West Fork voters approved by a 67 percent margin an initiative to dissolve the current autonomous water and sewer commission and establish a water department under city control. A draft ordinance will be presented at the council meeting Tuesday, December 11. The meeting will be at 6:30 in the City Administration Building. Mayor Frances Hime and City Clerk-Elect Marsha Hungate have both publicly expressed their support of the ordinance. Below, are their statements.

  2. Fourth Grade Learns to Vote

    Special to the Observer You’re never too young to learn about American democracy and how it works. The students of West Fork Elementary voted on November 6 also and according to their  teachers, they enjoyed learning about the voting process. Students were given voter registration cards and used them to sign in before they could cast their ballots.  The results were……Obama 176 and Romney 200. Thanks to Jenniffer Johnson and the Fourth Grade at West Fork Elementary for sharing their experience with the community. [click “More” to view photos]
